Insulin-growthfactor-likegenefamilyisanewfamilyofproteinsconsistingoffourproteinsinhumans(IGFL1to4)andoneinmice(mIGFL).mIGFLisexpressedinnormalskininmiceandfurtherupregulatedduringinflammationresponsesinskinorafterskinwounding.InhumanonlyIGFL1expressionisincreasedinpsoriaticskinsamples.mIGFLandhumanIGFL1and3interactwithspecificityandhighaffinitytoanovelreceptornamedIGF-likefamilyreceptor1(formerlyTMEM-149).AnalysisoftheaminoacidsequenceofIGFLR1indicatedthatthisreceptorislikelyanovelmemberoftheTNF-Rfamily.IGFLR1isexpressedmostabundantlyonmouseTcells,suggestingthatmIGFLandIGFL1producedintheskinmaypotentiallyexertregulatoryfunctionsonTcellresponses.
