Tyrosineisoneofthemajortargetsofproteinoxidation.Dityrosine(DT)isknowntobeformedwhentyrosineisdamagedbyfreerADIcals,suchasreactiveoxygenspecies(ROS),metal-catalyzedoxidation,ultravioletirradiation,andperoxidases.Dityrosinehasbeenfoundinatheroscleroticlesions,andlipofuscinofpyramidalneuronsofagedhumanbrains.DityrosineisaspecificbioMarkerforproteinoxidation.Dityrosineisreportedtoexistinvarioustissuesandwasalsorecentlydetectedinurinesamples.Itisexpectedtobeanovelproteinoxdationmarker,whichisnon-invasivelydetectable.ThieJaICADityrosineELISAkitisdesignedforquantitativemeasurementofdityrosineespeciallyinurinesamples.
