Protein-tyrosinephosphatase14(PTPN14/PTPD2/PEZ)isa130kDamultidomaincytosolicprotein,andbelongstotheNT6subtypeofPTPs.ItischaracterizedbyanN-terminalFERMdomain(Band4.1,ezrin,rADIxin,moesinhomology)andaC-terminalPTPdomain.Pez(Phosphatasewithezrindomain)mayplayaroleinregulatingendothelialcellproliferationduringvascularinjuryandangiogenesis.B-Catenin,acentralcomponentofadherensjunctions,hasbeenidentifiedasaPTPN14substrate.TGF,whichinhibitscellproliferationbutnotmigration,alsoinhibitstranslocationofPTPN14fromthecytosoltothenucleus.
